FREDDIE THE BASSIST

Freddie Draper is a professional Bass Player performing, recording and collaborating with a number of acts, artists and writers. Freddie enjoys playing all genres including Rock, Jazz, Soul, Funk, Disco, Prog, R&B, Musical Theatre and Classical.
In addition to Electric Bass Guitar, Freddie is also a Double Bass player working with groups, ensembles and orchestras, playing original compositions and covers. His sight reading skills are a bonus in both performing and recording environments.
Freddie is also a trained singer and provides Vocals in a number of collaborations - regularly providing both lead and backing vocals for a variety of projects, including Function Bands, Tribute Shows and Original Artists.
Transcribing and arranging are skills from which he takes great pleasure, and he has undertaken professional assignments for extremely high profile events including the 50 years of Marshall amps concert at Wembley Arena., The Proms at Windsor Races and Touring Orchestras.
From his early playing days he has built a portfolio of bass pupils, tutoring from beginner level to higher grades. After graduating from London's Institute of Contemporary Music Performance with a First Class Honours Degree and the award of "Best Bass" (2011-2014), he was invited to join the faculty in 2015 and now tutors there regularly.
Freddie is passionate about both instrument design & effects pedals. Aside from building his own instruments, he also works closely as a product developer for British Acoustic Bass company Gillett Guitars. Freddie proudly endorses Musicman Basses, Darkglass Electronics and Tech 21 pedals.
